Day 2 of my trip back to Malaysia: Exploring nature and nostalgic flavors 🌿🍛

It was my second day back in Malaysia. Today was a packed day, with me working out from the morning and eating my fill of local food!

1. Morning Hike at Bukit Gasing

First, we went to Bukit Gasing, located on the border between Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya. One of the great things about Malaysia is that there is such lush greenery right next to the city. It was incredibly refreshing to breathe the jungle air after such a long time. There were some steep stairs, but it was good exercise!

2. Reminiscing about the good old days at the shopping mall

In the afternoon, I went shopping at Mydin. Near the entrance, I couldn't help but stop in my tracks at the nostalgic toy vehicles. The brightly colored locomotives and police cars are a staple for Malaysian children. Just looking at them takes me back to my childhood, and it's a sight I love.

3. Encounter a high-tech "cat" at Johnny's!

For dinner, we went to Johnny's Steamboat . What surprised me there was that they had a cute cat-shaped serving robot (BellaBot) working there! The sight of it carrying a tray in a tuxedo was so surreal and cute that I couldn't help but take a video. Malaysian restaurants are really evolving.

4. This is Malaysia! A blissful moment at Mamak

And to end the day, of course we have Mamak ! I don't feel like I've come home until I have this.

• Roti Canai : Freshly baked crispy dough dipped in dal (bean curry) or chicken curry. The feeling of tearing pieces with your hands and eating them is truly comforting.

• Sotong Goreng (Fried Squid) : Crispy fried spiced squid. One bite and you'll be hooked.

My stomach and heart were both full, and it was a very satisfying second day. I wonder what I'll eat tomorrow? (lol)
