Hello everyone! This is Hani (Laurris). My long-awaited trip to Malaysia has finally begun! It's a trip I've been planning since 2022. This time, I'm flying from Narita Airport with Vietnam Airlines, via Ho Chi Minh City.

Today we will report on the start of the trip, the first day!

1. Depart from Narita Airport!

It was morning at Narita Airport. I checked in at the SkyTeam counter in the north wing of Terminal 1. As I watched the Kabuki performance on the monitor, I began to realize that I was really leaving Japan.

This time, I was boarding the 9:30AM flight to Ho Chi Minh City (VN307) . The area around Gate 25 was bustling with the excitement of people about to depart.

2. On board a Vietnam Airlines plane

It's finally time to board! This time, I'm accompanied by a cute Cookie Ann stuffed toy dressed as a chef. We took a commemorative photo with it in front of the in-flight entertainment screen.

The aircraft is a beautiful blue Vietnam Airlines plane. From the window, you can see the bridges of Garuda Indonesia and SMBC next door, and the view that can only be seen at an airport gets you excited.

3. Enjoy the in-flight meal (Lunch)

Shortly after takeoff, it was time for the long-awaited in-flight meal! This time the menu was Asian curry (or stew).

  • Main course: A spicy stew and rice plate that will whet your appetite

  • Sides: Ham and cheese salad, bean salad

  • Dessert: Japanese jelly (grape flavor!)

  • Other: Hot bread and Anchor butter

It was a hearty meal, perfectly seasoned for the start of my Southeast Asian journey. I finished it all and was completely recharged!

4. Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City!

After a flight of about six hours, we arrived at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. As soon as I stepped out the window of the plane, I saw a large palm tree that reminded me of a tropical country! The air suddenly became humid with tropical humidity, and that was the moment I felt with my skin, "I'm finally overseas!"

Next episode: From here, we'll transfer to our destination, Malaysia! Will we be able to reach Kuala Lumpur safely? Stay tuned for the second half!
