[Malaysia Trip Day 7] A Journey to Kedah, the Home of Rice! Idyllic Scenery and Heroes

It's finally the seventh day of my trip to Malaysia. Today I visited Kedah, also known as the "rice bowl of Malaysia." I'll look back on the day when I was able to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and feel soothed by the endless greenery.

🌾 Endless golden countryside

The view from the car window suddenly changed into a tranquil rural landscape (Bendang). The contrast between the blue sky and the green as far as the eye can see was so beautiful that I couldn't help but take pictures over and over again.

I found a scarecrow on the side of the road proudly holding the Malaysian flag, "Jal Gumilang," which made me feel warm and fuzzy. I came across a warm scene that is so typical of Malaysia.

🏙️ A huge "KEDAH" sign welcomes you!

As we drove along the highway, we came across a huge sign that read "Selamat Datang KEDAH (Welcome to Kedah)"! With the Alor Setar Tower (Menara Alor Setar) in the background , we truly felt like we were in Kedah. The words "Majlis Perbandaran Sungai Petani (Sungai Petani Municipal Council)" were also there, and we had just passed the entrance to the state.

And as a fan, there's one thing I absolutely couldn't miss! It's a collaboration between Big Apple Donuts & Coffee and BoBoiBoy ! ✨

The box design is so cute that it's almost a shame to open it. The chibi BoBoiBoy characters are drawn together with donuts, and as an illustrator, I'm inspired by the use of color and character design. Malaysia's national hero is the best, after all!

🥤 My travel companion, the vending machine

I found this vending machine at a place I stopped off during a break. It stocked Malaysian favorites like 100 Plus and Milo. I also liked the sticker that said "RM 1 / 5 NOTES ACCEPTED (1 ringgit and 5 ringgit notes accepted)," which somehow gave me a sense of everyday life in Malaysia.

Feeling the relaxed pace of life in Kedah really recharged my creative energy! I wonder what kind of scenery I'll see tomorrow?
